The Forest Schools First Aid course is totally integrated with the Forest School ethos, rationale and the unique professional requirements of Forest School workers.
Forest School staff need a 16 hour Outdoor oriented First Aid qualification. This can be met by completing an Outdoor First Aid course but this is not especially geared to the Forest School environment.
In its Guidance note – First Aid for Forest School, the Forest School Association (FSA) strongly recommends that a Level 3 qualified Forest School Practitioner holds a current first aid qualification as covered in the Institute for Outdoor Learning (IOL) statement of good practice for Outdoor First Aid at Band 3.
This 4 Minutes Forest School First Aid course meets the criteria laid out. This course would also meet the criteria laid out for Level 2 and Level 1 qualified Forest School Assistants.
This course is aligned with the Institute of Outdoor Learning’s Statement of Good Practice for Outdoor First Aid at Band 3
Add a 12-hour Paediatric First Aid qualification. (OFSTED / EYFS compliant)
If you need to hold a Paediatric First Aid Certificate as well we can incorporate this into the teaching and all attendees that need it will receive a 12-hour, Ofsted / EYFS compliant Paediatric First Aid Certificate as well. There is an additional fee of £20 per student for this optional qualification.
If not everyone needs to have it you can select & pay for certain learners. It does need to be set up in advance of the course.

If any staff also need to hold a 1-day Workplace First Aid Certificate, this can be incorporated into the syllabus and all attendees that need it will receive a Workplace First Aid Certificate as well. There is an additional fee of £20 per student for this optional qualification.

Need an Outdoor First Aid course?
The 16 hour Forest School First Aid course is an adapted 16 hour Outdoor First Aid course and meets the Outdoor First Aid requirements (apart from some minor stuff which can be added in if we know). If you are looking for an Outdoor First Aid course then consider our Forest School First Aid course, however make sure that your Organisation will recognise it as an Outdoor course before you sign up.
Here is a course content matrix comparing the two if that helps
